Those of us over 50 and even in our late 30's & 40's, grew up outside and active! Climbing, jumping, throwing, catching, swinging things, running, riding, basically every possible movement we could make we did. Because of that we created skills, movement skills, that made us physically literate and able to take on any physical task.
Then life happened... college, job, maybe a family, events taking up weekends, and the years passed by. Spending most of your hours each week sitting most of the day diminished the fundamental movement skills that you once possessed, and now you found yourself in position that allows you to play more of a sport!
The key to playing a sport again regularly, to play at the level you would like, and truly enjoy the game, is about re-skilling your body with those basic movement skills that you developed years ago, in your youth.
